Luke Marchant, the campaign manager for State Senate President David Williams's gubernatorial campaign is leaving his position to pursue other opportunities. Marchant, son of U.S. Rep. Kenny Marchant (Teaxs), had previously been an aid to U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (Florida) and had been instrumental in Rubio's election bid. It had been speculated that Marchant might help mend ties to those Tea Party voters who supported Phil Moffit for governor in the GOP primary. Mr. Marchant's departure comes only 76 days after his hiring in May when he replaced former Williams' campaign manager, Scott Jennings.
