Larry Hopkins endorses Steve Beshear

Former Kentucky Congressman and Republican candidate for Governor, Larry Hopkins, announced yesterday that he was  endorsing Steve Beshear for Governor. Hopkins also endorsed Beshear in 2007 in his initial bid for Governor versus Ernie Fletcher.  Nonetheless, this time the endorsement seems to be a bigger snub since David Williams was Hopkins campaign manager in the GOP primary in 1991.  How important is the endorsement? As far as pure tangibles are concerned, probably not as important as one might think. Beshear is already up in the polls by more than 20 points. Still, perception plays a role in politics and the image of a Williams being snubbed by his old boss doesn't help matters.
