CATS, CATS, CATS

This weekend in Kentucky sports was quite something.  UK finally beat Tennessee in football.  It was 1984 the last time that happened (calculate your own age now).  Senior Matt Roark played quarterback but mostly ended up running the ball and being the majority of our offense.  It wasn’t a barnburner but fans were elated to get the 10-7 win over the Volunteers.

UK basketball was fun, too, as the Cats beat Portland on Saturday night.  Once again, though, we got off to a slow start and only led by a slim margin at the half.  Of course, this team is impossible to beat when they play their best defense.

The best news for our basketball team came in the form of a loss that UNC suffered against UNLV, which made UK the number one team in the nation.  So all is right with the world.  UNC have their chance to spoil our party though, and will certainly hope to do so as they come to Rupp Arena this Saturday.  The Cats will first have to get past St. Johns this Thursday.
