Would You Like Some Headlines?

Here are some links to news stories around the state.
  • Jack Brammer tells us that Governor Steve Beshear and running mate Jerry Abramson have raised $9.5 million in their re-election bid.
  • Page One Kentucky has an article disputing Steve Beshear's claims during last night's gubernatorial debate that David Williams' father-in-law had received a lot of money from the state.
  • Danville is now the per-capita capital of microbrewing, with one brewery for every 7,500 people.
  • Last night's debate went pretty much as you would have expected.  No big revelations and no one really advancing (or hurting) their cause.  If you do want some post-debate analysis, however, Ryan Alessi has you covered.
  • The Southern Poverty Law Center has ranked all the the state's teachings on the history of the Civil Rights movement and grades Kentucky as an F, says Kentucky News Review.
  • KSR points out that Sports Illustrated has ranked the University of Kentucky's frontcourt 2nd in the nation (behind UNC) and their backcourt 3rd in the nation (behind Florida and Duke).  Big Blue Madness is now only two days away and if you're not bursting at the seams for a glimpse of this UK team, then I'm afraid I might have to call into question your status as a true Kentuckian.
